Global Gathering 2011

Global Gathering is an annual dance music festival by "Angel Music" Group. The event started life in 2001. It expanded from a one-day event in 2005 to become the UK's first camping dance festival. The concept came about following demand in the opening of Angel Music Group’s Code, the home of Godskitchen. The organisers recognised that there was a room to expand dance music from clubs to the traditional outdoor music festival venues. It provides entertainment from a range of electronic genres, and includes live acts, house, trance and dubstep. A line up of some of the world's most recognized DJs and live acts regularly feature on the bill.

Global Gathering 2006

Global Gathering took place for the first time in the United States on 18 March 2006 in Miami, Florida, at the city-owned Bicentennial Park alongside Biscayne Bay. This event marked the first time that the festival has gone across the Atlantic. Angel Music Group, parent company of Godskitchen, partnered up with United States-based companies Track Entertainment, Bacardi and Club Space, to produce and promote the event. With the success of the Miami event, Bacardi Global Gathering did a second Stateside festival in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Labor Day Weekend in September 2006.

Global Gathering 2005

Global Gathering 2005 was held on Friday 29th July 2005, from 5pm to 2am, and Saturday 30 July 2005, from 2pm to 6am, at Long Marston Airfield, near Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England. The BBC broadcast some of the event live on the national radio station Radio 1, and had their own stage at the event. Previous Global Gatherings had been single day events, but this was the first to be run over two days. It is generally thought that the attendance was around 45,000 people. A number of different types of stall were set up, both inside the arena area and inside the camp site. The police even had an X-ray machine to examine some bags. No alcoholic drinks could be brought through the gates. There were several tents inside the arena selling alcohol and one inside the camp site. These locations also sold some soft drinks and bottled water.

Global Gathering 2003

Godskitchen Global Gathering 2003 was held at Long Marston Airfield, Warwickshire, England with the Birmingham based promoters. Godskitchen Global Gathering 2003 ran from 4pm on Saturday 26 July until 7am on Sunday 27 July.A new addition to the festival was the inclusion of the Bora Bora Beach Arena, inspired by the Ibizan parties of the same name. As well as being the first major outdoor area to feature music at the festival, several tons of sand were imported onto the site to give the arena an authentic beach feel. Ironically, 2003 saw Global Gathering drenched in rain for the first time, although this did not appear to dampen the spirits of the several hundred people who danced outside for the night.

Global Gathering 2002

Godskitchen Global Gathering 2002 was held at Long Marston Airfield, Warwickshire, England with the Birmingham based promoters returning to the site of the previous years festival.

Godskitchen's Global Gathering 2002 ran from 4pm on Saturday 27 July until 7am on Sunday 28 July. The format of the festival was similar to that of the previous year, with the addition of an extra arena and an increased capacity totalling 35,000 people. Although the music policy in each of the tents remained more or less the same as Godskitchen Global Gathering, there were a few changes with regards to the other promoters guesting at the event, and the UK garage arena was dropped in favour of a dedicated Techno arena.

Godskitchen Global Gathering 2002 was broadcast live on Birmingham's Galaxy Radio on the 27 and 28 July.

Global Gathering 2001

Godskitchen staged their first outdoor festival Global Gathering on Saturday 28 July 2001 at Long Marston Airfield in Warwickshire nr. Stratford-Upon-Avon in the UK.

The event ran from 4pm on the 28th through until 7am on the 29th, with an after party following the event on the Sunday afternoon at CODE Godskitchens nightclub in Birmingham UK Global Gathering entered the British summer dance festival market in a crowded year which saw Homelands, Gatecrasher, Cream and the Ministry of Sound also staging events. However, despite the competition Global Gathering was a complete success, this being helped by fine weather and a sell out attendance of 25,000 people.

Global Gathering - Introduction

Global Gathering is an annual dance music festival by "Angel Music" Group. Ten festivals in countries such as the UK, Poland, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Australia and Ukraine feature leading electronica artists from across the globe. The event started life in 2001.
